From the royal town of Gadwal in Telangana comes one of South India's most distinctive weaving traditions the Gadwal Pattu, a saree that masters two fabrics in one.
The body is woven in fine cotton, cool and breathable against the skin. The border and pallu are pure silk, rich with zari — woven separately and then interlocked to the body using the traditional kuchipudi joint technique. The result is a saree that drapes with the ease of cotton and finishes with the grandeur of silk.
Motifs draw from temple architecture and nature rudraksha, checks, and traditional zari buttas on the border and a densely worked silk pallu that holds its own against any occasion.
GI-tagged and sourced from master weavers in Gadwal. A saree that knows exactly what it is.
